Abstract
This paper presents simulation analyses for wind speed fluctuations and grid faults in large wind park that is grid connected. The wind park is composed of fixed and variable speed wind turbines. Two cases were considered. In the first case, variable speed wind turbines were connected in the wind park. For the second case, only fixed speed wind turbines were considered. The results obtained could help understand the transient and dynamic phenomena in fixed speed wind parks attending to grid network disturbances. This can be done by including some variable speed wind turbines in order to achieve stability during periods of dynamic and transient conditions. Thus, wind parks composed of both types of wind turbines could be promising in the near future.
