Abstract :
Synchronous Machines of large power plants are responsible for setting the system frequency. This frequency allows the coordination and operation of the various Power Systems´ (PS) elements. However, due to the expected development of Distributed Generation a Microgrid (MG) may lack Synchronous Generation losing the capability of isolated operation. This paper proposes a control strategy for Converter-Coupled Distributed Generation to ensure stable operation of isolated MG even in the absence of Synchronous Generation.
