Abstract
Microgrids are developed to help with active power balancing in the electric power system or to supply islanded receivers at high-reliability levels. To improve overall efficacy and to simplify control schemes, microgrids are often build as DC systems. The paper describes the development of the converter aimed at interconnecting a single photovoltaic string with 120 V DC microgrid. A classic DC/DC ZCS converter topology was adapted to maintain high efficiency at high switching frequency over a wide range of input and output parameters. The paper includes design procedure for further implementation of the investigated topology. The results of the converter modeling and experimental tests are also presented.
