Abstract :
We present a novel numerical method that enables efficient computation of scattering and emisivity of natural and manmade surfaces arising in the field of remote sensing. We consider periodic surfaces of possibly very large period, to adequately capture the various scales present in them, and we apply our method to study the effect on radar polarization ratios of the presence of a tilling structure in an otherwise random rough surface.
