Abstract :
In this paper we present the role of an evaluation model for analysing persuasive systems in mobile healthcare. This model is available for mobile devices designed specifically for the elderly, which allows developers to use the rule of thumb when evaluating applications for mobile healthcare. The concept of elderly and their access to mobile health is discussed. In addition, persuasive systems have been used for supporting the convincing strategies in order to persuade elderly to live with healthiness. To avoid a failure in using mobile healthcare, the effect on user adoption needs to investigated in the next stage. It is a challenge that if elderly accept the technology and use mobile healthcare based persuasive strategies; the technology is expected to help elderly people to maintain their healthy activities. To conclude, our analysis can confirm that the proposed persuasive systems engage factors affecting user intention. This result is expected to be of significant value for key stakeholders in the design and use of mobile healthcare.
