Abstract :
Recommendations were made based on the results of this work and analysis of multiple military and commercial end face inspection standards. A quantitative fiber optic end face inspection procedure with acceptance criteria was written for use in MIL-STD-2042. Separate acceptance criteria were included for a) beginning of life, b) depot maintenance, and c) operational maintenance.
