Abstract :
Due to many advantages such as simple construction, low cost, no synchronization and variable speed operation etc., induction machines are emerging as a potential candidate as a generator in a wind energy conversion system. However the major drawback of its operation as a generator is its reactive power requirements. Therefore when such generators are connected into a power network, result into an excessive import of reactive power along with sudden disturbance. Therefore, in the present paper, an attempt has been made to investigate behavior of induction generator during integration as well as during the load disturbances across power network. Matlab/simulink model as developed is used to analyze such effects. Further distribution of load is shown through simulation. The simulated results as obtained are used to tackle such issues effectively.
