Abstract :
Performance of a wind turbine is dependent upon its operating conditions such as wind speed, pitch angle as well as on design parameters. In this paper, a MATLAB/SIMULINK model of a wind turbine as developed is found capable of investigating its performance. Simulated results as obtained are found to be useful to predict the effect of wind speed, pitch angle and rotor radius on its power output. Critical analysis of the results as discussed may be useful for the controlled output of wind turbine under real operating conditions.
