Automation in sports equipment has drawn attention of the sports industry because of the increasing popularity of different sports and the unavailability of professional coaches in every region of the globe. Automated sports equipment have been used in sports like cricket, running, weight lifting etc. In this paper we discuss about boxing trainer, a real time embedded base system, developed to train user/trainee from novice till professional level of boxing. The system records different sets of values during the course of training, allowing the users to analyze performance and improve their skill sets. In this paper we discuss about the hardware components and the basic algorithms used to develop the system.
