Abstract
This paper presents a novel Two-Dimensional (2-D) position control system for the two permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) that can be used in various 2-D applications which required this type of movement. Direct Thrust Force Control (DTFC) is used for the operation of the drive. The basic motor model has been described by the traditional two-axis equations then, 2-D basic equations to simulate proposed motion system have been introduced. With the proposed method, position reference is tracked by motor and the system provides smooth speed and position response. Achieving high precision and fast dynamic response for tracking of position reference is the main purpose of this study. Obtained simulation results with MATLAB/Simulink confirm capabilities of proposed 2-D motion system in tracking of 2-D input position reference with above properties.
