Abstract :
Adaptive controllers are developed to control systems with uncertainties. DC-DC converters are widely used to provide regulated DC voltages. Due to changes in the output load demand and also the input voltage variations, DC-DC converters are subjected to some uncertainties. In this paper, an adaptive controller based on sensitivity method is applied to a boost converter. In addition, a variable adaptive gain corresponding to the output voltage error is proposed to improve the control system performance. Simulation results show that both proposed controllers demonstrate acceptable regulation in presence of the output load changes and the input voltage variations. However, the proposed variable gain method is more effective compared to the fixed one.
