  • Abstract
    In this paper, effect of using various causal sub-domain temporal basis functions (TBFs) on the convergence and late time instability of Time Domain Method of Moment (TD-MoM) for transient solution of infinite conducting cylinder is analyzed. The PEC cylinder with arbitrary cross section is illuminated by a TM-polarized Gaussian plane wave. Three schemes with different approximations are used to calculation of impedance matrix elements. In a TD-MoM formulation for solving time domain Electric Field Integral Equation (TD-EFIE), the free space two-dimensional Green´s function and the rectangular spatial basis function are used. By employing Galerkin´s method in spatial domain and point matching in time domain, all time convolution integrals and self-terms evaluated analytically to increase the accuracy and the stability of the proposed technique.
