Software Measurement in the Netherlands - The 25th Anniversary of Nesma
Author_Institution :
Nesma, Netherlands
Abstract :
On May 12th 1989, the NESMA was initiated as the Netherlands Function Point Users Group (NEFPUG). In 1995 the name was changed into Netherlands Software Metrics Association (NESMA). Nowadays, 25 years later, the NESMA is one of the biggest metrics associations in the world, driven by volunteers. 2014 is an important year for the NESMA: NESMA will not be an abbreviation anymore. Nesma will be established as a brand. Part of that is the launch of a new logo and a new website. It´s a great opportunity to celebrate this 25th anniversary by hosting the IWSM-Mensura 2014 in the Netherlands on the fantastic venue the Rotterdam. An anniversary where we do not only look backward but also forward as part of our 2020 strategy. In this article we will give you a short overview of the achievements of the last 25 years and a view on the Nesma 2020 vision that will result in new innovations in the world of software measurement.
