Abstract :
State and reaction rate estimation in highly uncertain bioprocess models is an important topic for a successful control of these processes. Discontinuous observers, as for example the super-twisting estimator, offer unique properties as convergence in finite time and insensitivity with respect to non-vanishing perturbations. We present a generalization of the classical super-twisting observer and illustrate its use in the estimation of variables in a bioprocess.
