Abstract :
We designed a simulator for better simulating decentralized SPARQL query processing at the network level, and for helping evaluating the mechanism. The simulator design aimed to provide a solution to the dilemma in which we were unable to simulate query processing in a decentralized settings and measure its performance at the network level simultaneously in a single simulation run. The original requirement for such design is to evaluate an ad-hoc Semantic Web data sharing system, and we therefore use it as an example to explain how the simulator effectively serves for its intended purpose.
