  • Abstract
    This paper presents a literature review about high voltage braced insulator assemblies and its strength requirements. First, various types of braced insulators assemblies are presented, as well as a load analysis, which is very important considering that a braced insulator assembly is subjected to horizontal load (wind & line angle), vertical load (weight), and longitudinal load. Finally, topics on mechanical stability are presented since cascade type failures have occurred on improperly designed lines.
