Abstract
A novel microstrip fed hexagonal shaped antenna for Ultra Wide Band (UWB) applications with WiMAX band-notch characteristics is proposed in this work. The proposed antenna covers the entire UWB bandwidth of 3.1 to 10.6 GHz with band rejection in the WiMAX frequency of 3.5 GHz. The rejection in WiMAX range reduces interference between UWB and WiMAX band. Band rejection is achieved by etching complimentary split rings on the radiating element.
