Abstract :
Current antenna research mainly focusses on antennas that are well suited for Ultra Wideband (UWB) applications. Multiple antennas were used to achieve the whole UWB range in the earlier designs, which was not compatible for smaller devices. A novel, compact circular patch antenna for UWB applications is proposed. An inverted T-shape structure is etched in the ground plane along with a C-shaped strip. The proposed antenna is capable of radiating in the entire UWB range with sufficient gain and desired radiation patterns. Antenna exhibits a notch that comes under the X-band. The antenna proposed here is suitable for entire UWB range application and it avoids the interference from X-band which is used for satellite and military applications.
