Abstract :
With the continuous development in the IT new technologies like Cloud Computing, Big data have emerged and found its application in almost every area including education sector. Cloud computing delivers many services like platform as a service, Infrastructure as a service but the software as a service has made a tremendous impact in the software industry. Today education is considered to be one of the basic necessity after food, clothing and shelter of any individual. Thus the number of individuals taking up education has increased and is continuously increasing along with the need for delivering better education. Thus the amount of data to be managed by the institutions is increasing every day which has aroused the need for better Educational Enterprise Resource Planning(EERP). Also the processing done on the data though not frequent but when done it is always on large amount of data. In such scenario the conventional EERPs seem to be becoming unsuitable and insufficient to meet the changing needs of education system. Also these EERPs need to be installed at the premise of the college which leads to heavy investment for installation, its maintenance etc. Software as a service is the answer to the problems faced by the educational institutions which uses the same conventional EERPs developed by just changing the way the software is delivered to the users. The existing SaaS applications developed for the Educational institutions till today considers every college as separate tenant; however many a times there are tenants which have similar business functionalities and so can be grouped together to develop a single base SaaS application. This project report describes one such application EduSaaS which has been built up on the concept of grouping the tenants on the basis of the similarities in their business so that a single application can serve multiple users.
