Abstract :
In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a simple and accurate fiber Bragg grating (FBG) phase shift tuning system using mechanical micro-strain. Continuous phase shift tuning between 0 and π in FBGs based on a low-cost beam bending package is experimentally established. The results indicate that the magnitude of the temporary phase shifts can be easily reconfigured by adjusting the travel distance of a micrometer screw.
