  • Abstract
The Ethernet-based diagnosis protocol is widely used in automotive systems. Diagnostic gateways have been developed for seamlessly interconnect with Ethernet based diagnostic protocols and traditional in-vehicle network protocols, such as local interconnect network (LIN), controller area network (CAN), FlexRay. A diagnostic gateway is connected to the Internet and manages the interconnection between in-vehicle networks and the Internet. Therefore, a diagnostic gateway is the most important component for interconnecting a consumer electronics device to the automotive system. In this paper, we implement a diagnostic gateway for the automotive system, and propose various applications of a diagnostic gateway to consumer electronics devices.
