Abstract
This paper proposes a progressive and hybrid target detection algorithm to improve the results of two PIR processing algorithms featured by window energy and alarm duration. This algorithm reduces environmental noises alerting false alarms and provides a reliable performance for moving-object detection outdoors. The suggested algorithm supports light-weight target detection for a resource-constrained system usually used in wireless sensor networks.
