Abstract
Recent years the smart home has been accepted and used in home environment widely. Moreover, with the expansion of Internet of things, smart home is challenging of remote access and control. In this paper, we propose a smart home monitoring system which supports data transmission between local ZigBee network and remote Internet network. The home gateway is designed based on a TI chip LM3S9B96 and a RF chip CC2520. The software of gateway is running on the real-time operating system FreeRTOS embedding ZigBee protocol stack and TCP/IP protocol stack LwIP. The system provides both local and remote access and a simple and flexible user interface. Several kinds of ZigBee devices have been designed to demonstrate the stability and effectiveness of the system.
