  • Abstract
This paper presents a folded compact antenna operating in the Radio-Frequency IDentification (RFID) Ultra High Frequency (UHF) 860-960 MHz frequency band. The motivation of this work is to respond to the growing need of broadband compact antenna: the mean applications are RFID UHF traceability and localization using the precision and long range allowed by the use of microwaves RFID systems [1]. An original topology is studied and realized to exhibit an optimal trade-off between bandwidth of operation, gain and compactness. The topology of this antenna is presented and a new approach used to match the complex impedance of the IC is detailed. The performance of the realized antenna is compared to the state of the art.
