  • Abstract
The problem of routing and Spectrum Assignment (RSA) is a key challenge in implementing a elastic optical network, and has attracted a lot of research attention in recent years. In this paper, we adopt a new framework to handle the problem in which we fix the sequence of the customer demands while trying to find the path for each demand in order to obtain more reasonable solution for the whole. Besides, a genetic algorithm using priority-based encoding combined with an efficient local search process is proposed to cover the shortage of the K-shortest path strategy which is the most widely used routing strategy in RSA but with limited search space. Experiment results testify the effectiveness of the new framework and the proposed algorithm.
