Abstract :
3rd generation (3G) wireless networks are supposed to provide spot on wireless Internet services. These networks are designed for multimedia content (Voice, data and video), high data rate services, packet data services and location services. In UMTS main requirement of network is to provide effective level of QoS. For providing the stipulated level of services, the UMTS requires an efficient method and a hardware platform. In this paper, Performance of two dynamic state routing protocols for 3G networks is compared: RIP (Routing Information Protocol) and EIGRP (Extended Interior Gateway Routing Protocol) and. Even if RIP and EIGRP are based on similar dynamic state routing, the differences in the protocol implementation methods can escort to significant concert differentials. These protocols are inspected based on `traffic sent (packets/seconds)´ and `traffic received (packets/seconds)´, by varying the number of users, speed and intermission time.
