Abstract :
How to effectively control the relative displacement between the pier beam, beam and beam, to prevent collision damage, even fall beam under seismic action has been a hot issue for foreign and domestic scholars. Bearing is a very important connection affecting the bridge structure seismic performance. Isolation bearing can effectively decrease the earthquake response of the bridge structure, but will increase the displacement of bearing and relative displacement of the pier beam. A new bearing-cable-sliding friction aseismic bearing (CSFAB) is developed to improve the seismic capacity of bridges in earthquake zones. Sensitivity analysis of a four span continuous beam bridge is performed. Key designing parameters including stiffness of cables and the initial movements of CSFAB under EI-Centro waves and Wenchuan Earthquake waves are analyzed. Results show that the beam end displacement and moment at the bottom of fixed pier can be reduced effectively through reasonable adjustment of cable stiffness and the initial movements. The perfect combination of seismic resistance and displacement can be realized.
