Abstract :
That recent years in China found a spate of 6 accidents of bridge collapse due to failure of suspenders arouses reflection of the industry. But the existing suspender models in researches are either too simple and rough or too complicated and inefficient. This paper therefore presents a support spring model based on a real bridge. The model is then applied to an actual bridge to analyze the impact of dynamic action at passage of live vehicles on suspenders.
