Abstract
In a high-speed Optical transmission system, the NRZ (Not Return to Zero)-modulation, the RZ (Return to Zero)-modulation, the ODB (Optical DuoBinary)-modulation and the MD-RZ (Modified Duobinary RZ)-modulation are simulated by using OptiSystem simulation software. And then we analyzed the spectra of these four formats. We found that they have different dispersion tolerance. To compare the effects of different optical power, we used one method named symmetrical dispersion compensation. In this way, we compared the performance of RZ-modulation and MD-RZ-modulation. At last, we found out the best optical power of RZ-modulation in the different conditions.
