Abstract
The information of range measurements plays a big role in assisting node localization in wireless sensor networks(WSNs), which is an essential task in most application areas of wireless sensor networks. Through a practical wireless sensor network platform in which ranges between sensor nodes are estimated by using received signal strength indicator (RSSI) modules, we show that the ranging process is polluted by large sparse errors. Based on the sparse prior of large ranging errors, we propose a novel model of range error correction for the wireless sensor node localization problem, which is further solved by utilizing the technique of semidefinite programming (SDP) relaxation. Extensive simulations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm works well in range error correction and node localization.
