Abstract :
The experiments of total dose effects on COTS array charge-coupled devices (CCDs) at the low dose rates of 0.01 and 0.03 rad(Si)/s are presented. The CCDs are divided into two groups, with one group biased and the other unbiased during 60-Co γ irradiation. The saturation output signal voltage, dark signal slope, and fixed pattern noise versus the total doses are presented. It is shown that the biased CCDs are degraded more severely than the unbiased CCDs, especially at a high total dose. The resolution of the CCD camera image is degraded remarkably after irradiation.
