Abstract :
A creative, effective and more environmental friendly polishing method, which is called constrained abrasive jet polishing was put forward and studied, based on elastic emission machining theory and abrasive fluid machining theory. This method make use of abrasive fluid that constrained by a wheel, it could repeatedly impact the surface of workpiece. As a result, compared to traditional polishing method, it causes a high precision to workpieces with less time and cost. In order to verify the feasibility and validity of this method, a set of constrained abrasive jet polishing equipment was designed and developed. After a series of polishing experiments acted on K9 optical glass, it comes to a conclusion of the influence degree of three process parameters that determine the effect of polishing on the K9 glass, and in a descending order, they are fluid jetting velocity, minimum machining gap and fluid jetting Angle.
