Abstract :
Mobility analysis and kinematics simulation of the Spatial Parallel Automatic Gear Shifter is presented in this paper. The mechanical structure of the automatic gear shifter was analyzed and the working principle of the automatic gear shifter was also explained. Then the connection between rotate angles of the revolute joints and the spatial location of the shift lever was analyzed. Trajectories of two typical transmissions, i.e. manual transmission and automatic transmission, were obtained by kinematic simulation. The results show that the Spatial Parallel Automatic Gear Shifter (SPAGS) has a precise trajectory of control on both manual transmission and automatic transmission and prove the SPAGS is fully function on gear shifting.
