Abstract :
We present a VCSEL driver that incorporates both pre-emphasis and pulse equalization. Designed in a standard 65nm-CMOS process, the measured VCSEL driver achieves a 25Gbps electrical eye and 20Gbps optical eye with 71mW power consumption (without pre-emphasis) from a 1.2V supply.
