Abstract :
Body Area Network is a distributed system which is formed by the group of sensor nodes and a central processing unit which collects all the vital signals from these nodes, process them and send them to the medical server at a remote location. The sensor nodes record the Personal Health Information about the patient, therefore the security of the network is mandatory. Due to limited computational resources and bandwidth, the conventional security techniques used in Wireless Sensor Networks are not directly applied. In this paper, a key management scheme with Fuzzycommitment and weak time synchronization along with QoS parameters for key negotiation is developed. The Heart Variability Rate (HRV) is used as a biometric trait for encryption and synchronization. Performance evaluation has been provided to validate the proposed method.
