Abstract
This paper describes connected mode and Islanding mode of distribution subsystem and formation of a micro-grid. In this micro-grid is composed of a two distributed generations (DG). One is a diesel-generator and second is two parallel connected inverter interfaced voltage source with voltage regulator. The two parallel connected inverter with voltage regulator is independent of real and reactive power control to minimize islanding transients and maintain voltage stability and angle stability. The simulation of study system is performed with the help of MATLAB/SIMULINK software tool. This paper concludes that presence of an electronically-interfaced distributed energy resource unit makes the concept of micro-grid a technically viable option.
