Abstract
High levels of power consumption of mechanized oil production stimulates the engineers for searching new solutions to improve energy efficiency by adjusting the operating mode of submersible motors. Using numerical studies we explore two ways to adjusting the operating mode, i.e. switching the transformer taps and introducing additional inductive resistance in the stator circuit. The studies showed that, in terms of losses in the electrical part of the electric centrifugal pumps, it is more efficient to use additional resistance.
