Abstract :
Recent realization of ultralow loss pure-silica-core fibers having 0.15dB/km and their manufacturability will be discussed. The fibers have appropriately enlarged Aeff decided from viewpoint of analytically developed fiber figure-of-merit depending on transmission distances.
