Abstract :
We experimentally demonstrate a bi-directional SOA for simultaneous upstream preamplification and downstream boosting in NG-PON2 OLT applications. Signal performance, output power, burst ratio and back-reflection tests indicate its feasibility for mid-class power budgets of NG-PON2.
