  • Abstract
    In this paper, comparative analysis of Carrier Suppressed Return-to-Zero, Duo-Binary and Differential Phase Shift Keying modulation formats for single channel 40Gb/s system is done. Performance is analyzed in terms of number of spans, Amplified Spontaneous Emission noise and different compensating schemes through Q-factor and eye diagrams. Single channel is analyzed for the factors stated above, with number of spans equal to four and each span is of 50km. Effects of ASE is studied at the end of 4th span for all three formats and comparison is made by observing optical signal-noise spectrum.
