Abstract :
THz wireless systems offer ultra-high bit rate transmission without the fog outages that affect free-space optical systems. THz wireless systems are attractive for both in-building and outdoor access applications. Photonic THz signal generation and detection techniques enable transfer of signals over optical fibre, enabling integration with fibre access systems. Advances in photonic integration techniques are key to cost effective photonically enabled THz system deployment.
