Abstract :
We developed a novel spot size converter with cross-vertical taper. Coupling loss between ZrO2-SiO2 PLC with 5.5% Δ and SMF was reduced to 0.2 dB/facet at 1550 nm, and less than 0.4 dB/facet in C-band.
