  • Abstract
    Highway has the characteristics of brittle as a complex system, and the interference from internal and external environment leads to collapse easily during the operation, which causes huge losses. In this paper, the brittleness theory is applied to the highway traffic system with the purpose of brittle nature analysis. With the comprehensive consideration of the influence of unit failure probability and consequence to the brittleness, the calculation method of brittle source evaluation index has been presented. This paper proposes several improvement measures and suggestions in concern of the actual cases and weak links of Heilongjiang provincial highway network.
