  • Abstract
The usage of optical fibers for sensing applications is immense. The development of microstructured optical fibers (MOF) has even boosted the investigations on optical fiber sensors due to the extreme structural variety and extraordinary optical properties of these fibers. Nevertheless, also non-silica fiber materials as well as coating influenced sensor fibers are still adapted for sensing elements.
