Abstract :
In this paper the losses of the electrical drive system for electrical vehicles (EV) are investigated and modelled. For this, the individual losses of the two main components, the voltage source inverter (VSI) and the Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (IPMSM), are analysed and modelled. This model considers the parameter variation and the dependency on the operating point of the IPMSM. Using multiple linear regression, an approximation equation is found which describes accurately the total loss of the VSI. Hence it enables to determine the losses accurately by simulation.
