Abstract :
This paper deals with the estimation of state for a class of linear systems with the uncertainty that appears in the both state and output matrices and the uncertainties are bounded. A sliding mode observer-based method is proposed which can be effectively solved using linear matrix inequalities (LMI) technique. The stability of the designed observer is proved. A simulation based on the VTOL aircraft is presented to evaluate the performance of the proposed observer and the feasibility of the fault detection algorithm.
