Abstract :
As a kind of parallel light, sunlight can be used for positioning. Light sensors are attached to each side of an octagona cylinder to achieve solar orientation. By theoretical analysis, design and test of a prototype, a fixed structure test method for sun orientation is verified. The instrument presented can be a foundation of new navigation device.
