Abstract
Direct-detection (DD) receivers based on digital signal-processing (DSP) can perform polarization tracking, polarization demultiplexing, and demodulation of multi-level Stokes modulation. Such digital polarization manipulations in DD receivers provide us with cost-effective solutions to 100-Gbit/s transmission.
