Abstract :
We developed a novel burst-mode receiver with both a wide dynamic range of 31.5 dB and a fast receiver settling time of 24.1 ns for TWDM-PON systems, with a pre-amplifier with a unique bottom-detection AGC function. This is broadly applicable to the TWDM-PON systems of NG-PON2 having a 1:64 split and a transmission distance exceeding 40 km.
