Abstract :
In the radar field, waveform range sidelobes are undesirable and in this paper, we concern a method that generalizes nearly-orthogonal multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar waveforms into conventional radar to further suppress sidelobes after coherent accumulation. Given a bunch of MIMO waveforms, a waveform is randomly selected at each pulse-repetition period for transmission. After coherent accumulation, as the mainlobe can still be coherently accumulated while range sidelobes cannot, the overall peak sidelobe level (PSL) would decrease significantly, as shown via numerical results.
